Scripta is a private notebook for circles of friends: you write down what was said at your gatherings, and the circle keeps it. This page explains what Scripta stores, who can see it, and how to get it deleted.
Who runs Scripta
Scripta is a personal, non-commercial project run by Alex Ivanov. It is not a company product, and it shows no ads.
What Scripta stores
Your email address and the name you choose. If you sign in with Google: your name and email from Google, nothing else. The circles you belong to and their gatherings. Quotes, stories and notes you or your friends add, including who said them. Photos of notebook pages, gathering photos, and voice memos you upload. Basic technical logs kept by our hosting providers for a short time.
Who can see it
Only members of a circle see that circle's content. Private notes are visible only to you. Anyone quoted can hide a quote about them, and hidden parts of a notebook photo are blurred for everyone. Voice recordings can only be played by the person who recorded them and the circle's admins, and only until they have been reviewed.
Services Scripta uses
Supabase stores the database and files (servers in Frankfurt, Germany). Vercel hosts the website. Resend sends the sign-in emails. Anthropic reads notebook photos and splits voice transcripts into quotes (see below). A speech-to-text service will turn voice memos into text; it will be named here before voice memos are switched on. Google is used only if you choose to sign in with Google. These services process data for Scripta and may do so outside your country, under their own data-protection terms.
AI reading
Notebook photos and voice transcripts are sent to Anthropic's API so Claude can read the handwriting or pick out the quotes. Anthropic does not use API data to train its models. A circle's admins can switch this off; the circle then types everything by hand.
How long things are kept
Quotes, notebook photos and gathering photos stay until they are deleted by the person who added them, a circle admin, or you when you ask for your account to be deleted. Voice recordings are deleted as soon as their quotes are reviewed, and in any case 14 days after upload. The written quotes stay. Quotes and memos saved on your phone while offline stay only on that phone until they are sent.
Cookies
Scripta uses only the cookies it needs: one to keep you signed in and one to remember your language. There are no analytics, tracking or advertising cookies.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of your data, for corrections, or for your account and everything you added to be deleted. Email the address below and it will be done within 30 days.
